Is triban 500 good?
Overall, and especially at 10 paces, it’s a good-looking bike, but it’s the ride which is the real eye-opener. The gears are good. The brakes aren’t bad, but above all, the ride is brilliant. A combination of frame geometry, sensible 25c tyres and cockpit layout yielded a beautifully balanced ride.

PLOCHINGEN, Germany – With a campaign in Germany for its road bikes, Decathlon is introducing two new brand names: Triban as well as Van Rysel.
How many gears does triban RC 500 have?
With a shadow rear derailleur design and 11-gears, it’s phenomenal. You can find full specs here. In order to marry this with the hydraulic disc brakes and not blow the budget, the RC520 employs TRP’s Hy/Rd hybrid callipers.
Is triban RC520 good?
Triban RC520 Disc overall I’d also happily load up the Triban for weekends away and credit-card touring. The lack of tubeless-ready tyres is one of the few negatives. To get predominantly 105 at this price is virtually unheard of, the hybrid TRP HY/RD brakes are excellent, and the saddle and handlebar very good.

Decathlon now offers a gravel edition of the Triban RC 520 , with 36mm tyres, which would have been handy. The RC 500’s dirt road capabilities are seriously limited by its tyres, though on flatter trails its forgiving handling means it pootles along nicely.
Are decathlon folding bikes any good?
It’s probably the best value bike I’ve owned. Nothing folds as easily or as small or has the convenience of the front luggage block (get it with this) . There are far too many folding bikes that come without mudguards (this is a bike to ride in normal clothes – pointless without guards).

The Triban RC120 is the best road bike you can buy for under £400 at Decathlon and is one of the very best cheap road bikes that I have ever tested. It has everything you’d expect on a bike costing much, much more, with few obvious cost-cutting measures, certainly when it comes to the overall performance of the bike.

The Triban 105 RC 520 an excellent road bike for someone looking to push themselves toward longer fitness rides, be it as part of a group, on solo adventure loops, or for lengthy commutes. It’s got a great group of parts on a sturdy, quality frame, especially at this price.

Is the decathlon Triban RC500 worth the money?
Overall though, the Triban RC500 is a fantastic value bike for the money, in my opinion. Yes, it is more money upfront but that’s because you’re paying for a bike that has more robust components and is a 2-in-1 bike, that is convertible from a road bike into a gravel bike. Decathlon also offers a lifetime warranty on the frame, stem and handlebar.

You wouldn’t really expect a £380 bike to be seriously competive or durable enough for racing, but the Triban 500 SE comes closer than most. On long steady road rides it climbs, descends, handles and rolls along very much like many bikes costing several times as much money.
What do you think about the btwin Triban RC500?
The Btwin Triban frame on the other hand feels more flexible and less rigid, especially when we loaded our bikepacking bags onto the bike. The carbon fork feels more lightweight and seems to be more aerodynamic than the previous fork, I will say design-wise the carbon pattern on the RC500 looks a lot better in my opinion.
