How do I renew my jib card?
In order to renew, existing cardholders will be expected to provide the following:
- Completed renewal form (online or hard copy)
- A current passport-sized colour photograph.
- Evidence that you have passed an acceptable health and safety test within the last 2 years.
- The JIB-PMES renewal fee (if applicable)

How long does a jib card last?
We recommend you apply for your card immediately to get full value as your card will be valid for 5 years from the test pass date and will allow you easier access to sites.
Can I renew my jib card without 18th edition?
From 01 January 2020, when Registered Electricians renew their card they must hold the 18th Edition. Without the 18th Edition, cardholders will revert back to a standard Installation or Maintenance Electrician card.
Can I renew my ECS card?
You can renew your card even if it’s already expired. You can also replace or re-grade your card depending on your needs.
Can you do CSCS card online?

Booking a CSCS test is straightforward and can be done online or by telephone. You should be able to get an appointment for your test at the CSCS test centre of your choice within two weeks.

Is a jib card the same as a CSCS card?
The cards are essentially the same, although you will need the appropriate card to work in these areas. You may also have heard an ECS card being known as a JIB (Joint Industry Board) card. The JIB is the issuing authority on the ECS card, there is no additional card.
Do ECS cards expire?
Typically, an ECS card will be valid for three years, however, some ECS cards have a shorter expiry date. For instance, ECS Trainee cards are valid for 24 months, Experienced Worker and Provisional graded cards valid for 18 months and Work Experience cards are valid for 12 months.
How do I update my jib-PMES CSCs registration card?
If you gain an additional qualification which will allow you to move from holding a JIB-PMES CSCS ‘blue’ card to a JIB-PMES CSCS ‘gold’ card you can update your JIB-PMES CSCS registration card. Please note, currently this process can only be completed using hard copy documentation as we do not have a facility for cards to be updated online.
What evidence do I need to renew my jib-PMES card?
Note: Please ensure that you provide appropriate HS&E evidence for the card you are renewing. E.g. If you are renewing a JIB-PMES Manager card, please ensure you enclose evidence of having passed the CITB Manager and Professionals HS&E test, or an acceptable alternative.

What are the changes to the jib-PMES 2020 Application criteria?
From 01st June 2020 the JIB-PMES will be changing the application criteria for PMES Supervisor gold cards. The application criteria for the JIB-PMES Manager black card changed from the beginning of November 2020.
